Paul Penland left a large Boise law firm in 1979 to start his own practice. It is now known as Penland Law Office, Chartered. Paul focuses his practice as a personal injury attorney, workers' compensation attorney, and general litigation attorney. The firm's office is located in Eagle Idaho which is a suburb of Boise, Idaho. We are close to the Boise core business area, the Capitol mall, the Idaho Industrial Commission, and the courts. Paul represents clients throughout the state. We maintain an active civil litigation and administrative practice. We also represent selected clients in commercial matters including litigation and employment law issues for management only. Paul also provides services as an arbitrator and hearing officer, as well as serving as an advocate in various alternative dispute resolution formats including arbitration and mediation.

Paul has associated with other law firms in specialized capacities and has acted as local counsel in litigation. The areas of practice emphasized include civil litigation, insurance defense, personal injury cases, workers’ compensation matters for employers and injured workers and certain aspects of employment law (on behalf of management).

For many years, Paul's focus has been on insurance defense including injury claims arising out of motor vehicle accidents, truck accidents pedestrian accidents, premises liability claims and the like. He has also emphasized on the defense of workers' compensation claims on behalf of self-insured employers and insurance companies.

In recent years Paul has expanded the scope of his practice to include the representation of people who have been injured by the wrongful acts (negligence) of others and workers who have been injured on the job or developed an occupational disease from an exposure in the workplace. Over his career, Paul has handled death cases, traumatic brain injuries (TBI), quadraplegia and paraplegia cases, spinal injuries to the cervical (neck), thoracic (mid-back) and lumbar/sacral (low back) well as injuries to the arms and legs.

Our philosophy is to provide quality legal services in an efficient manner, at competitive rates. Consistent  with this philosophy, in addition to excelling in traditional litigation, Paul employs alternative dispute resolution (ADR) methodologies and innovative settlements to achieve successful outcomes.
